Football Game Procedure
Dear Students and Parents,
Our first home football game with be Thursday, August 27th. Our football game procedure will be as follows:
- Home games will be played at Sparkman MIDDLE School (not Sparkman High)—directions below
- Students are to be seated in the bleachers by 6:00 pm. (hint: leave house by 5:00—traffic is very heavy); car-pooling is highly encouraged. Although the Seventh-Grade Ballgames start at 5:00, we play for the 8th Grade games.
- Cancellation of games due to inclement weather will be notified by e-mail by 5:00 p.m.
- Prepare for all weather conditions
- Uniform: (1) Embroidered Band shirt (with white shirt underneath) and
(2) khaki pants, khaki school-approved shorts, or khaki capris (both dark and light khaki are allowed). Shirt MUST be tucked in at all times. All types of shoes are permitted.
- Food and drink are allowed in the bleachers.
- Games are generally over by around 8:15 pm. Student cell phones are encouraged to communicate unforeseen circumstances (late ballgame, inclement weather, etc.)
- Students must take their own instruments to the game (exception: Tubas, Bass Clarinets, Baritone Sax, and school Percussion). Tuba, Bass Clarinets, Bari Sax, & Percussion need to load/unload instruments from the rental truck at Sparkman Middle.
- All students must take their own music.
- Students will be admitted free of charge with their Band shirt on
- Students may take stadium seats/cushions if desired
Directions to Sparkman Middle School:
Take Jeff Road North (continue past Sparkman HS and Highway 53).
Sparkman Middle will be on Jeff Road 1 mile north of the Jeff Road/Highway 53 intersection. The stadium is on the northeast portion of the campus.
